STV GROUP actively participates in the ammunition initiative of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic
By the end of this year, STV GROUP is ready to deliver directly from its own production or from its foreign partners more than 100,000 pieces of large-calibre ammunition. This is the ongoing result of STV GROUP's active involvement in the award-winning Czech Republic's ammunition initiative aimed at helping Ukraine.
STV GROUP is the only manufacturer of large-calibre ammunition in the Czech Republic and a reliable and proud partner of the Czech Army. "Since last year, we have been newly producing 155 mm calibre ammunition that meets NATO standards. In addition, we continue to produce traditional artillery ammunition of the original eastern calibre of 122 mm, 152 mm. Thanks to this, we cover a very wide portfolio of artillery ammunition," says Pavel Beran, Director of Special Projects at STV GROUP.
"As part of the current ammunition initiative, we have several deliveries agreed with the Ministry of Defence. We expect to finalize them in the coming weeks. All of them are very demanding in terms of financing, in the order of billions of crowns," concludes Pavel Beran.
The Czech Republic provides three pillars of assistance to Ukraine. The first is long-term bilateral cooperation with Denmark and the Netherlands. This involves the supply of heavy military equipment, including dozens of tanks, howitzers and infantry fighting vehicles. The second pillar is direct cooperation between Czech and Ukrainian companies, which is mediated by the Agency for Intergovernmental Defence Cooperation (AMOS) established by the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic. The third pillar is the Czech ammunition initiative to provide several hundred thousand artillery shells to Ukraine together with other countries.
