312 thousand crowns for the Military Solidarity Fund

STV GROUP once again confirmed its commitment to supporting Czech war veterans.

At this year's War Veterans' Day on 11 November on Peace Square in Prague, she presented the Military Solidarity Fund with a symbolic check for CZK 312,000 and 500 poppies.

The symbolism of the donated amount

The donated amount, CZK 312,000, has a broader meaning. It commemorates the 312th Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron of the RAF, which played a key role in the fight against Nazi Germany during the Second World War. These heroes, who gave their lives for freedom, became a symbol of courage and sacrifice. Today, they are an inspiration for today's soldiers and society as a whole. That is why this year, on 28 October, the President of the Republic awarded the Medal for Heroism in memoriam to Colonel Josef Keprt, pilot of the 312th Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron.

Support for veterans and their loved ones

The Military Solidarity Fund, established nine years ago by the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and Charity of the Czech Republic, helps those who find themselves in difficult life situations. Whether it is the families of fallen soldiers, the wounded, or otherwise disabled, the Fund provides financial assistance to enable them to overcome difficult moments. STV GROUP has long contributed to the Fund as an expression of respect for those who have contributed to the defence of our country.

War Veterans Day is an opportunity to honour the memory of heroes and also a platform for strengthening social awareness of the importance of supporting the defence forces. This year, the celebrations were held in the spirit of solidarity, with demonstrations of military equipment and a programme for the general public in addition to the presentation of a cheque.
