LARGE TACTICAL EXERCISE AT THE PREMISES OF STV GROUP A.S. CHECKED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
On Saturday, September 26, the STV GROUP a.s. in Nové Město pod Smrkek tactical training of several units of professional and volunteer firefighters. The subject of the exercise was a situation where, during bad weather and associated storms, a tree fell between the objects of the area and a forest fire ensued.
The aim was to practice the individual activities of the fire protection units after arriving at a forest fire in the STV GROUP area at individual sites. Cooperation with the Rescue Department of the HZS of the Czech Republic and their pair of special CZS Titan steel-coated syringes was practiced. Due to the scale and nature of the event, a response commander's staff was set up on site. The regional operational and information center of the HZS of the Liberec region therefore sent a command container, thanks to which the established staff had the necessary background for coordinating individual intervention activities and communicating with individual sections. A rear area was created for the responding firefighters, which is almost a necessity in such large-scale and long-term events. It was a matter of course that the training and execution of the firefighting intervention itself and the coordination of a large number of forces and resources during the continuous supply of water for the entire duration of the intervention. There were several company buildings in the area, which the firefighters had to protect from the fire.
The entire exercise was carefully monitored from the air by a drone, which firefighters call in during similar events for a better overview of the spreading fire, its temperature and hidden foci, which the drone identifies thanks to the built-in thermal imaging camera. At the end of the exercise itself, the present units familiarized themselves in detail with the firefighting capabilities of the special mobile fire equipment of the ZÚ HZS ČR (CZS Titan).
