NATO Summit 2024: The Future of the Czech Republic's Defence Capabilities in Focus
Prominent representatives of the state and the defence industry, including STV GROUP, discussed at the NATO conference on ensuring the defence capability of the Czech Republic and collective defence within NATO.
On Wednesday, 2 October 2024, the CEVRO College hosted a major conference NATO Summit 2024: Capabilities and Capacity Requirements of the Czech Republic, focusing on key issues of national defence and the future of collective security within NATO. The panel discussion entitled Implications for the Czech Republic's Defence Capability and NATO Collective Defence featured David Hác, Chairman of the Board of STV GROUP, who together with Karel Krejza, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Acquisitions of the Chamber of Deputies, and former Chiefs of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, Generals Jiří Šedivý and Josef Bečvář, discussed the future of Czech defence capabilities.
Among the distinguished guests were former Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek and Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Army General Karel Rehka, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Former US Ambassador to NATO and Commissioner for Ukraine Kurt Volker and Acting Deputy Secretary General of NATO Boris Ruge also presented their contributions via video stream.
The conference emphasised the key role of the Czech defence industry and military in strengthening the country's security, with the STV GROUP representative recalling the importance of investment in capabilities, innovation and technological advancement to ensure reliable defence capabilities for our country and the Alliance as a whole.
