"Building a strong defence industry for a safer world"
The Czech defence industry is returning to the limelight - and STV GROUP is one of its key players. As a proud partner of the Defence and Security Conference, organised by AOBP and E15.cz, we supported the discussion on the future of the Czech defence industry and the financing of the Czech Republic's security. David Hác, Chairman of the Board of Directors of STV GROUP, also spoke at the conference and, together with other experts, discussed the importance of the industrial base for the country's defence capability.
"We are gradually returning to where we were 100 years ago, when the Czech Republic was one of the largest arms exporters. There was a great development here, there were great facilities here, and complete supply chains were built here, which served both defence and the economy and prosperity during the First Republic," said David Hác.
STV GROUP is, therefore, investing in production and technology to make the Czech Republic a leader in the defence industry again. "We are investing upfront because if we didn't, we wouldn't even be able to support the Czech Army," added David Hác.
Over the last three years, STV GROUP has invested more than CZK 1 billion and created 600 new jobs. And this is just the beginning. "We have investments worth CZK 5 billion in the pipeline. With another 1,200 jobs. We are not talking about some assembly here. We are talking about a truly integral munitions production. From the very beginning to the final product with high added value," said David Hác.
"The army will only ever be as strong as the industry behind it. If we are not able to support the military in times of crisis, the military simply cannot and will not function because it will only have what it has to spare. And that is usually not enough in times of conflict," concluded David Hác.
STV GROUP is therefore investing in the future of the Czech defence industry. As the only Czech manufacturer of large-calibre ammunition, it is expanding its production capacities, strengthening its supply chains and ensuring that the Czech army will have sufficient resources for the future.
