neřízené munice pro nové vrtulníky UH-1Y „Venom“ a AH-1Z „Viper“

STV GROUP will deliver unguided ammunition for H-1 helicopters to the Czech Army

On Thursday 25 July 2024, STV GROUP signed a seven-year framework agreement with the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic for the supply of unguided munitions for the new UH-1Y "Venom" and AH-1Z "Viper" helicopters.

Securing the deliveries will lead to arming the Czech Air Force and gaining full helicopter capability to operate against the enemy and support its own units. Specifically, this includes 20x102mm calibre ammunition for the M197 air cannon in SAPHEI (three-hole penetrating incendiary), TP-T (trainer with tracer) and TP (trainer) versions. In addition, unguided 70mm HYDRA missiles for the LAU-61C/A and LAU-68F/A missile blocks, as well as the Mk-66 rocket motors and the MK 151 and MK 229 RKT portfolio of triple burst warheads, the WTU-1/B training warhead, and the M274 target smoke effect training warhead. STV GROUP will cooperate with the renowned US company General Dynamics - Ordnance and Tactical Systems on the deliveries.

The framework agreement is not limited by the financial volume, but by the maximum number of units over the entire duration of the agreement in order to ensure the appropriate capabilities of the Czech Air Force. The first deliveries of ammunition will take place in 2025 and 2026.

Already this year, however, under another contract, STV GROUP will supply the Ministry of Defence with 5,000 pieces of training cannon ammunition of 20x102mm calibre for the training of helicopter crews.

The contract was signed by David Hác, Chairman of the Board of STV GROUP, and Lubor Koudelka, Chief Director of the Armaments and Acquisitions Section of the Ministry of Defence. The ceremony at the Ministry of Defence was also attended by Pavlína Čermáková, Director of the Central Current Expenditure Department of the Armaments and Acquisitions Section, her colleague Colonel Pavel Seman and Ivo Strejček from STV GROUP.

"The framework agreement for the supply of unguided ammunition for the H-1 helicopters of the Czech Army fits into the long-term strategy of STV GROUP, which is to move away from Eastern types of ammunition to NATO calibre," says David Hác. "The cornerstone was the start of production of 155 mm NATO artillery ammunition in the Czech Republic. This year we will produce more than one hundred thousand pieces. Further steps to build self-sufficiency and security of ammunition supply in the Czech Republic are projects for the production of 120 mm tank ammunition for NATO main battle tanks, the development and production of 81 mm and 120 mm mines including applications for self-propelled mortars or 30x173 mm cannon ammunition," concludes David Hác.

STV GROUP is a proud partner of the Czech Army and the only manufacturer of large calibre ammunition in the Czech Republic. The company's portfolio also includes production of ammunition in other calibers, provision of comprehensive life cycle services for military platforms including deep overhauls, modernizations or integrations, production of plastic explosives and engineer charges or ballistic protection devices.
