We supported the David Benes Memorial

The David Benes Memorial, a multi-fight of four-man teams of infantrymen of the Czech Army, is held in honour of the war hero, David Benes. It pays tribute to all war veterans to commemorate their memory, incredible courage and commitment. STV GROUP, a proud partner of the Army of the Czech Republic, is proud to support this prestigious race, which is a symbol of courage and skill.

David Benes was a brave soldier who sacrificed his life for our freedom. During his service, he participated in three foreign operations in Afghanistan. In 2009 he served as a member of the 3rd contingent of the Czech Army ISAF PRT in Logar. From September 2011 to April 2012, he served as a senior driver with the 3rd OMLT in Wardak and finally, from March 2014, as a senior driver-specialist with the 2nd BAF Guard Company. He died as a result of injuries sustained in a suicide bomber attack near Bagram Airbase. He was buried with military honours in Chomutov. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of staff warrant officer and awarded the Cross of National Defence and the medal "For Heroism".

The David Benes Memorial is organised annually by the 41st Mechanised Battalion "General Josef Malý", which is part of the Czech Army Ground Forces and is organisationally integrated into the structure of the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade. The battalion is characterised by a high degree of readiness, high mobility and firepower and the ability to move quickly over various distances. In addition, it has a partial airlift capability. This is reflected in the organisational structure, in which the individual elements are integrated into three basic units, i.e. a combat section, a combat support section and a logistic and medical support section.

This year the following teams took the first three places:
1. Gold stayed at home - scouts from the 41st Mechanized Battalion "Gen. Josef Malý" Mechanized Forces of the 41st Mechanized Division of the "Josef Malý" did not disappoint again!
2. Silver went to the fighters from the University of Defence
3. Bronze went to the team of the 74th Mechanized Battalion Bučovice "Col. Bohuslav Maleček "

During the competition the teams had to face difficult challenges. Shooting disciplines tested their accuracy and speed, while obstacle courses tested their physical fitness and endurance. Tactical operations required cooperation, strategic thinking and the ability to make quick decisions. Each team gave their all to the competition and the results were close.

The David Benes Memorial is one of many events that show the courage and determination of our soldiers. We are proud to have been a part of this wonderful tradition and to have been able to help keep alive the memory of those who gave their lives for us.
