Cartridge 122 mm HE with reduced charge (Nb 122 HE) is intended to be fired from 122 mm 2S1 and D30 howitzers for destroying enemy manpower in the open or in the field-type shelters, also intended for making passages in mine fields and defense wirings, fighting artillery and destroying light armoured vehicles and equipment.
Cartridge 122 mm HE with reduced charge is a separate loaded ammunition and consists of a HE-462 projectile, which is equivalent to the OF-462 projectile, and a Ž 10 propelling charge, which is manufactured with Fe and brass cartridge cases. The cartridge is produced according to the technical specifications No. TP-O-230 and meets the design documentation OF462-23-0699 for Fe-cased propelling charges and OF462-23-0701 for Brass-cased propelling charges.
