The BVP-2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle is an amphibious armoured tracked vehicle providing protection for crew and transport section with armour and weapon stations. It increases the firepower and manoeuvre capability of units on the battlefield and is used to transport crews and destroy enemy armoured targets, protected shelters and personnel.
The main weapon station is a stabilised 2A42 30 mm calibre gun. The vehicle is armed with a 9P135M anti-tank guided missile launcher for Fagot and Konkurs missiles. The secondary weapon is a 7.62mm PKT machine gun. The BVP-2 has installed equipment to protect the crew from pressure wave, penetrating radiation, radioactive fallout and chemical weapons. It is also equipped with a 902V system for launching smoke grenades.
